Traveler Tips on NC
Put NCGuide on your site Geography:
The Piedmont of North Carolina, also known as The Heartland, is composed of gently rolling plains which contain fabulous golf courses, lakes and farm land, as well as the state's largest urban areas. Western North Carolina is bounded by two ranges of southern Appalachians, the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Great Smoky Mountains, with peaks exceeding 6,000 feet.

Seat Belt Law:
North Carolina has a mandatory seat belt law that requires all front-seat passengers to wear seat belts. The state also has a mandatory child restraint law that requires children 4 years old and younger to be secured in a child safety seat. A child age 4 up to age 12 must ride in a safety seat or car seat belt.

Our Environment:
The natural beauty of North Carolina has long been appreciated by both residents and visitors. We welcome you to enjoy our scenic state, but please remember to protect our environment and keep North Carolina beautiful.
